Welcome...

Hi, I'm Kim Butterfield. I'm a technology fanatic, an ex-web and graphics designer, photographer, bass guitarist, and always will be a Rubik's cube speed solver. This is my online academic portfolio; on this website, you will find links to my portfolio of work and CV.

I'm a first year PhD student in Geography at the University of Leeds, working in collaboration with one of the largest general merchandise and clothing retailers in the UK. I am funded by the ESRC under their WRDTP 1+3 Studentships. My thesis focuses on refining spatial models to incorporate consumer store and channel choice behaviours at the individual level. My key areas of academic interest are retail geography, agent-based modelling, demographic projections, coding, and simulating human behaviours.

When I'm not in class getting my head around Python and sociological terminology, you can find me slashing zombies on virtual reality, playing The Sims franchise, or learning about the latest and greatest pieces of mobile technology.
